Built in 1954 as the Fox Appliance store Live Wire Athens was originally a warehouse and showroom for appliances. In 2004 the building was sold and converted into a bar and nightclub. Then in 2009 it was converted to a music venue, New Earth Music Hall. New Earth became one of the most impressive music venues in The Classic City after the Georgia Theatre burned down in late 2009.
In 2014 New Earth closed and the building was purchased by Live Wire Athens. The Robertson family and Live Wire Athens staff worked diligently to create a premier location for local and national musicians as a music hall. Over time Live Wire Athens recognized the potential of its industrial atmosphere for private events. In 2016 the paradigm shifted and Live Wire Athens established itself as a modern industrial event venue.
Today Live Wire Athens is a rustic, versatile event venue full of life and culture. Combine that with the Robertson family hospitality and professional service and you have the perfect place for your custom occasion.
